On the eve of the introduction of Islam, Central Asia was a region where the assimilation of different peoples and cultures was active and various religions and doctrines were deeply rooted; these beliefs had a significant impact on the socio-political life of society. The article describes the ancient, pre-Islamic religions and the governing system of Central Asia on the basis of primary sources and scholarly literature.References
