Publication Ethics

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Human Studies

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Human Studies is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices. The journal follows the guidelines and principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to internationally accepted standards of scholarly publishing.

1. Duties of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to The Journal of Interdisciplinary Human Studies must ensure that:

  • Their work is original and has not been published previously.

  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal at the same time.

  • All sources and references are properly cited.

  • All listed authors have made significant contributions to the research.

  • Any conflict of interest (financial, institutional, or personal) is fully disclosed.

  • Data, results, and findings are accurately presented without fabrication, falsification, or manipulation.

Plagiarism in any form, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.

2. Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for:

  • Making publication decisions based on the academic merit of manuscripts.

  • Ensuring the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.

  • Preventing conflicts of interest between authors, reviewers, and editors.

  • Taking appropriate action in cases of suspected misconduct, including corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern.

  • Ensuring a transparent and fair peer-review process.

3. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Conduct reviews objectively and constructively.

  • Maintain confidentiality of manuscript content.

  • Identify relevant uncited sources.

  • Inform the editor of any conflict of interest.

  • Report any ethical concerns, including plagiarism, data manipulation, or unethical research practices.

4. Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding acceptable academic limits may be rejected without review. The journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism.

5. Conflict of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any conflicts of interest that could influence the research, review, or publication process. Transparency is required at all stages.

6. Retraction and Correction Policy

The journal reserves the right to:

  • Retract published articles in cases of serious ethical violations.

  • Publish corrections or clarifications where necessary.

  • Issue an expression of concern when misconduct is suspected but not conclusively proven.

7. Research Ethics

For studies involving human participants or sensitive data:

  • Authors must confirm that their research complies with institutional and international ethical standards.

  • Informed consent must be obtained where applicable.

  • Any ethical approval reference must be clearly stated.

8. Intellectual Property and Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their work under the journal’s open-access license policy. All published content is distributed according to Creative Commons licensing terms selected by the journal.

9. Open Access Policy

The Journal of Interdisciplinary Human Studies provides immediate open access to its content to promote global knowledge exchange and academic collaboration.

10. Complaints and Appeals

All complaints and appeals related to editorial processes, peer review, or ethical issues will be handled fairly, transparently, and confidentially by the editorial board.
